It did not quite meet my required £1/hr ratio even at £2.79, it is for this reason and the lack of engaging storyline that I am not recommending this game.. Not bad.Unfortunatly on my 3rd game I found loads of food and rendered the game harmless, then on my 4th game also. Was looking forward to grinding some unlocks and a good challange, but the game bent over and let me slip it right in.Game falls on it's face when you have a good team and food. leavs you clicking to get it over with.Edit: A new patch has just dropped (Sweet) looks like it will make my review invalid, when I get chance I'll play n update.. Nyheim is a dice depending boardgame. Its like killing mutated rats instead of zombies. You have 3 ways to win the game. 1. Build up your HQ to lvl 5. 2. Finish all yellow Quests and 3. Survive the winter. At my first 3-5 runs it was nearly impossible to win or even thing about to it. Its not like normal boardgames its a bit harder until you figured out how to play ist. After every game you recieve some EXP whichyou can use to "upgrade" your group of survivors for the next run. Note: ONLY for the next run.In my opinion the notifications ingame disapear to fast. Sometimes its impossible to read them.I think this is a good game. Some options could be optimized but as i read in the community hub they wont do any upgrades (stand April 2017).If you can buy it at the sale day (1,35€) its realy worth its price.. I enjoyed this game.I would compare it to pandemic or quarantine, but it is even a bit more difficult as you only have one group with your leader that can do actions.The key to this game seems to be food. If you have enough food, you can do practically anything, as it allows you to reroll as many dice for 1 food.Of course there is a lot of random dice rolls involved and RNG involved, especially for crisis' and during searches.A tough game too, as it is possible to lose during the first turn or two, as you only have your leader, and 2 injuries per characted is equivalent to death. Loss of leader means loss of game.I've just beaten it for the first time and it was a great experience.. Complete Rng bull that ruins the game, unless you get a good start you will lose and Exp does not matter since you always need to spend it just to use abilities.. Good game overall, A bit to easy when you figure it out. Basically a card/dice board game of exploration and rebuilding in a post-apocalyptic environment. For something which is heavily abstracted into dice, cards and symbols, it manages to get across a good atmosphere of desperation and survival.. This is such a good game! It's super fun, and quite challenging. Once you figure out the mechanics, it does get easier but man sometimes a run of bad dice rolls can ruin you haha! It's got a lot to offer, and I'd highly recommend it. It feels like a digital version of Pandemic (board game) without it actually being Pandemic. I like that you face off against all kinds of rats that carry the diseases.I would love to see some more content, but for 3 dollars on sale, you can't complain!!9/10. Great game!The artwork is very solid and absolutely my cup of tea, neither comically nor full of itself.Choosing the city itself as narrator is rather Suomi I guess, I say it is refreshing!Soundtrack can get a bit annoying after one session, maybe more ambience sound next time?As a seasoned cardboard game and chess player this game is mostly a little bit too easy for me, but I love the concept and the new game+ ideas. Although they are unbalanced and some "improvements" crank up the difficulty into the absolutely impossible. Or maybe I missed something.Some players complained about the big RNG portion of the game, but I fiercely reject that claim! The game is VERY fair if you can count and if you use the information given correctly. It is quite some information though, and you should take your time before hitting any buttons. I dare say it is one of the least RNG dice-games I ever played!Oh and happy 100th anniversary!Kippes!. Did not bother with the modifiers becouse the game was easy enough to start with but i guess you can pick the ones with the biggest drawbacks or just save exp and play them all with drawbacks, probably going to try that.Really like the consept of these games, rats are a bit boring do, mostly becouse they are all the same and the game is going for simple. don't get me wrong, I really like simple, but this was a bit to simple. Games should be EASY TO LEARN, but HARD TO MASTER. this game failed on the last part, mostly becouse i think they prioritised the first part.With all that said, I will keep an eye on these happy goblins.
